Uzbekistan’s Uz-Kor shuts down HDPE, PP production for scheduled maintenance

MOSCOW (MRC)–Uz-Kor Gas Chemical shut its production of high-density polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) on 6 September for a scheduled maintenance, according to an MRC Price Report.

Uz-Kor is a joint venture by Uzbekistan’s National Holding Company Uzbekneftegaz and a consortium of South Korea’s Kogaz, Lotte Group, and STX Energy.

The shutdown will go on for about three weeks, according to sources.

The facility’s production capacity for HDPE stands at 386,000, and at 80,000 tonnes for PP.
