PODCAST: Asia IPA tight despite weak demand also seen in Europe and US

LONDON (ICIS)–Demand for isopropanol (IPA) is globally soft, though tight supply in Asia has contributed to continued limited exports to Europe.

Limited availability also drove firming prices in Asia, though weak demand has resulted in pricing falling since this episode was recorded in late October.

IPA is a solvent used in many industrial and consumer products and as an extractant. Applications include cosmetics, personal care products (hand sanitizers), de-icers, paints and resins, pharmaceuticals and inks and adhesives.
