Chevron Phillips restarts Texas cracker after high water

HOUSTON (ICIS)—US-based Chevron Phillips reported a temporary shutdown of its Cedar Bayou cracker on 1 November because of high water ingress into the facility, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) made available on Monday.

In a filing on 2 November, the company said it began the restart process at the cracker, and that flaring associated with the event could last through 12 November.

The Cedar Bayou cracker has an ethylene capacity of 803,000 tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
