Russia’s Stavrolen resumes PP, HDPE production after short turnaround

MOSCOW (MRC)–Russian polyolefins producer Stavrolen
has resumed production of high density polyethylene (HDPE)
and polypropylene (PP) after a short turnaround, according to
the ICIS-MRC Price Report.
Stavrolen resumed production on 8 December
after a short repair. According to customers of the producer,
the shutdown lasted only three days.
November production of high density
polyethylene (HDPE) and PP at the plant was 24,200 and 10,600
tonnes respectively.
The producer’s output of HDPE and PP in the first 11 months
of the year reached 248,900 and 103,400 tonnes
respectively.
Stavrolen, a subsidiary of Lukoil, is the
second largest Russian producer of high density polyethylene
(HDPE) after Kazanorgsintez and the fifth in terms of
production of polypropylene.
Its production capacities for HDPE and PP
are 300,000 tonnes/year and 120,000 tonnes/year
respectively.
