Summary and Decision
The consultation asked general questions about the suitability of the ICIS pricing methodology.
ICIS received four responses. Two of the responses were questions about the market. One was an observation that ICIS assessments lag the market.
The fourth respondent requested more information in each weekly report on the mix of sources polled, and when editorial judgment has been used. Also clarity on the change in spot prices versus the previous month and current duties.
ICIS will survey market sources about the practicality of including this additional information.
ICIS will not be proposing any immediate changes to the methodology of the polypropylene reports. Any decision to change this methodology will be communicated to subscribers using the usual channels and with the usual notice period.
ICIS continues to welcome any feedback on its polypropylene methodology outside of the formal consultation process.
