LONDON (ICIS)–Click here to see the latest blog post on Asian Chemical Connections. The developing world cannot do all the post-pandemic lifting on its own, far from it. Policy decisions made by developed-world governments and multilateral institutions will shape the pace at which the region recovers – and will thus set petrochemicals growth. As for the developed world itself, growth will be largely set by the success of governments in converting policies from emergency relief to ones which create jobs in new industries. A challenge for the rich countries will be the extent to which China continues to dominate jobs in new industries such as renewable energy. The potential for trade, technology and geopolitical tensions remains high.
