Consultation

ICIS is implementing a process of rolling consultation on all of its pricing methodologies. This consultation paper is part of this formal process and covers all of the ICIS primary price points included in the acetone weekly publications.

The consultation asks both general questions about the suitability of the ICIS pricing methodology and questions addressing specific acetone market issues.

Summary

There were a total of three responses to the consultation, all private. This summary takes into account all responses.

All three addressed the question of the normalisation of the CFR China assessment in the ICIS Acetone Asia Pacific report. They were all in favour of keeping the normalisation of this assessment.

One respondent wrote that the current assessments cover the markets and there is no requirement for additional assessments.

All the respondents agreed that the current ICIS methodology provides a reliable measure of market value.

ICIS Decision

ICIS will continue to use the current methodology for assessing acetone prices in all regions.

ICIS continues to welcome any feedback on its acetone methodology outside the formal consultation process.
