Fundamentals of Petrochemical Plant Economics and Forecasting

Virtual: 18-Oct-2023 to 19-Oct-2023 | Start Time: 8:00AM London / 11:00AM UAE / 3:00PM Singapore

Course Overview

IT IS CHAOS out there. A mountain of data and alternative opinions make short-term petrochemicals market analysis incredibly difficult.

But so many people need to analyse the past and predict the future in order to set sales, profit and production targets in an ever-more complex and volatile economic environment.

The good news that ICIS is providing a “how to” guide to market assessments through its Introduction to Petrochemicals Part 2 training course.

Presented by John Richardson, ICIS Consultant Asia who has 26 years of experience in analysing petrochemicals markets, largely in polyolefins, the course covers topics such as the role of spreads, margins, trade flows and supply and demand data in building market analysis.

We also explain the economics of the steam cracker business – how cost and profit models are built, accompanied by analysis of the cost positions of producers in different regions.

These topics are placed in the context of what’s happening right now in global polyolefins markets with our views on pricing, trade flows and supply and demand over the next 18 months, backed up by a wealth of ICIS data.

And we provide exercises to test your analytics skills along with plenty of time for discussions and sharing of the challenges.
