Supply is expected to improve despite upcoming maintenance on the ExxonMobil-operated pipeline amid a 90-day turnaround at INVISTA’s 375,000 tonnes/year US Victoria, Texas, adiponitrile plant. The plant, which went down in early January, will offset the Q1 maintenance, as INVISTA is the largest single consumer in the US by volume.
Demand will remain constant despite the 90-day turnaround at INVISTA’s Victoria adiponitrile site as other downstream producers continue to build inventories ahead of the Q2 and Q3 high seasons. Downstream producers are looking to build inventories following tightly balanced BD supply at the end during the typical destocking season against the backdrop of recovering automotive demand from the onset of the pandemic.
