Use the independent price assessments and market coverage in our price reports to track the regional Polystyrene market.
Updated to Q4 2019
PS supply for Q4 is expected to be normal in Brazil, with more styrene available. Supply will be normal in Colombia and Mexico but below par in Argentina, where consumer buying power has diminished. Production remains down in Venezuela for lack of raw materials or hard currency to import styrene. There are no expansions planned.
PS demand in Q4 will remain challenged in the southern hemisphere, with many uncertainties about the economic status of Argentina and Brazil. In addition, the global economy has been sputtering with diminished global trade. Demand is expected to be normal in Colombia and Mexico, but still at reduced levels from the previous year.
